Now this is some real candy for me !:lollipop: Buddy of mine had one identical to this with a 409 dual quad but his was an SS .It was one of the nicest sounding engines I have ever heard.It left an indelible impression on me.He didn't baby it either, longest burn out I have ever seen.That car could burn rubber in any gear 1-4 :D :2thumbsup:

About 69 or so I owned a similar but black Impala convertible
409 single 4. The old 409 was basically a truck motor, darn thing could pull tree stumps out of the ground.;)

Did someone say torque :2thumbsup: The 409 is my favorite Chevy motor followed by the 427 and then for sheer horsepower the Chrysler 426 Hemi ! Is what they use for top fuel dragsters/funny cars ! 5000 ponies under the hood. That was a fun car the (Impala) huh OG :cool: :lollipop:

Last nice car I had was a 67 Stang hardtop with a 390 small block stroker sold it a couple years back, I no longer drove it, to me it was a sin to let it sit.
Now? Old beat up Chevy truck and a minivan. Truck for out here on the farm, minivan to go to town, which is less and less often.
If I had that 440 GTX back I would probably kill myself in it...then again, I always liked James Dean...
After my last round of chemo, I got out on a high bank track with a friends racer and broke 150. Managed to avoid soiling myself but just barely. I'm too old for that stuff.
I keep it down to no more than 75 in 65 zones....:D
Edit: I know I'm forgetting. A 40 Ford coupe just popped into my head...not sure if it counts I never actually drove it...bought sans engine and sold partially done. I remember a Dodge Dart with a big motor...but it was almost 40 years ago.
